bees!  Yes, that’s right, bees.  I was at a spring training baseball game in Arizona and a large swarm of bees delayed the game for a good 40 minutes.  The best part was the sign, announcing the delay to the stadium.

Sunset in the 7th

The baseball game may not have been pretty, but sitting in the bleachers and watching the sunset sure was…

Signs of baseball

April 25, 2012

It was a beautiful day for a baseball game this past Saturday!  Sunny & 70′s, it was fun just walking into Fenway Park to watch the Red Sox play the Yankees.  But, the day didn’t end well for all those Red Sox fans…

Neon Souvenirs

Too bad this sign just never lights up… but it still looks pretty good anyways.

Boston, April 2012

Fenway Park is celebrating it’s 100th birthday this April. (Of course we know what else happened 100 years ago…)

On a beautiful night on opening day when the Boston Red Sox were out of town, I got to spend some time in the seats and get myself excited for the upcoming baseball season. I know it’s early, but I have to just sit back and enjoy the fact that the NY Mets have a .800 record!

I may be one of the few non-Red Sox fans living in Boston (go Mets!), but I was still pretty impressed to see the two World Series trophies the Red Sox have won over the past 8 years.  Each trophy is made by Tiffany & Co., and is worth approximately $15,000.

Sitting comfortably outside on a warm(ish) night watching a game of baseball means that Spring is officially here.  And until I can get back to see the Mets Fenway will have to do…

Fenway Park, May 2011

Spring brings many wonderful things, one of which is the start of baseball season!  Although it’s usually slightly less enjoyable if you’re a Mets fan (at least we’re currently at .500, unlike the team in my current town which hasn’t won a single game yet, and the Yankees are coming to town this weekend…), I still manage to enjoy watching and going to as many games as I can.

Happy Friday!

Baseball in NYC

September 7, 2010

Only in New York would people not notice/care that their baseball field is in the shadows of a highway and a water tower!

Fenway seats

August 11, 2010

I was surprised to find these wooden seats still in use at Fenway Park – they look a little outdated, no?  But I love the fact that they have probably been there for at least 60 years, and they have more character than any plastic seat I’ve ever seen.
