Dreaming of Las Vegas

About this time last year I was in Las Vegas, soaking up the desert warmth and totally forgetting about the cold weather creeping into the Northeast. I wish I were doing the same this year… I’m already missing those warm summer nights!

The Las Vegas strip looks impressive even from the sky! Although this is the ‘old’ strip – the ‘new’ Vegas is off to the left… The lights seen here would be even more exciting if I could somehow capture the darkness that surrounds this little area in the desert from the plane!

I went to this restaurant on Friday night with some friends. No, I did not travel to Las Vegas for one night, but headed instead up Route 1 to this famous (infamous?) Polynesian restaurant. It even has its own Wikipedia page and tons of pictures of celebrities with the owners over the years (Seinfeld, The Rock, Ann Hathaway, etc). And now about the food? I’ll let you guess how it was by the second picture, but we had a blast for sure.

And on the other end of that plane ride (where the vantage point from yesterday’s post was from), was Las Vegas. Although at first glance, this might be able to pass for real New York! Well, as long as you don’t notice the white taxi and the arrangements of the buildings : )
