An afternoon in 3D

May 15, 2012

I saw my very first 3D movie over the weekend! I was one of the many, many people who flocked to the theater to see The Avengers, and it sure did make for a great first 3D flick.

Oh, and you know who else had the same thought? Mitt Romney, who sat 5 rows in front of me, and I guess had nothing better to do?

I saw this ad on the subway platform and couldn’t help but wonder whether the guy really is Mark-Paul Gosselaar.  It can’t be… but it looks exactly like him!

Provincetown Pier

I love taking the ferry to Cape Cod, but I’ve always wondered who these ladies were on the side of the Cabral Pier building.  The Internet to the rescue!  The photographs are part of an outdoor art installation called They Also Faced the Sea, which shows five large portraits of local Portuguese-American women photographed by Norma Holt, and have been hanging since 2003.

Storm King Portrait

October 27, 2011

I know this little tree doesn’t have many of it’s leaves left, but it looks so striking against the green grass and bright blue sky. Something about it being all alone in the middle of this field in Storm King Art Center drew me to it!

And on the clarinet…

February 17, 2011

Way back in the summer of 2004, I went with a friend to see Woody Allen play with his band at the Carlyle Hotel in New York.  We had front row seats for this performance, and it was amazing.  After asking nicely, we ever scored an autograph from Mr. Allen himself!
