I spy something shiny

November 17, 2011

On a gloomy grey day, it always brightens my day when I catch a glimpse of the Massachusetts State House and that shiny gold leaf dome!

Remember this post from last week of those amazing clouds? Well, I can’t help but post another picture of them. I love this little glimpse reflecting in a puddle… do I have another series on my hands?

I’m ending the week with this dramatic picture I spotted on my walk home from work the other day.  It had just rained and the sun was setting, making for a picture perfect setting.

Happy Friday!

We still see her everywhere!!

This crane was so big!  But it moved around with large pieces of the tree so easily, clearly they have done this many times before.

And all the commotion brought out the neighbors, it was quite a social event!

Time to call in the machines!  The trees became pulp in seconds.

The story of Irene, Part I

Luckily, Boston didn’t get hit as badly as originally forecasted, but there were still plenty flooding and down trees all around the city, including on my street.  So sit back, relax, and enjoy the story of the fallen tree over the course of three days.

This tree fell exactly in between two parked cars!  We saw the owner of one of them, and she couldn’t believe her car was spared…

Not so much for this one, and we later found out another car was under there!

On an especially bright and sunny morning after the rain…

Bright, spring sky

May 17, 2011

I know it’s supposed to rain the rest of the week (and what feels like weeks to come), so I’ll be dreaming of a day as bright, sunny and cheery green as this one until then…
